International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM)
Applying here is not free, unlike most routes on this board — a service fee applies, and we state the exact amount before you start anything. Separately, IIUM bills by credit hours attempted, so a repeated subject is charged again, and it states that it may revise fees without notice. The totals here are its own published figures for international students and are a firm guide rather than a fixed quote.

International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in detail
The money
FOUNDATION, one year, international rates including 6% SST: Arabic and Islamic Revealed Knowledge RM17,500; Law, Human Sciences, Economics and the English and Malay communication routes RM18,794; Nursing RM23,304; Computer Science RM23,749; Engineering, Physical Science, Allied Health, Biological Science, Medicine, Pharmacy, Architecture RM24,195. Each total already carries the medical check-up, registration and recurrent fees. BACHELOR, the WHOLE degree rather than a year — four years unless stated, and each figure already includes the hall of residence: Economics and Management RM71,665; Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences RM71,665; Sustainable Tourism and Contemporary Languages RM74,065, or RM78,065 for Tourism Management; Education RM78,065; Information and Communication Technology RM81,265; Law RM90,865; Science RM90,065–91,565; Allied Health Sciences RM92,365; Architecture RM97,965; Nursing RM107,565, or RM45,265 for the three-year distance-learning route; Engineering RM111,965. Pharmacy is RM169,785, and Medicine and Dentistry are five-year degrees at RM383,940 and RM387,540. POSTGRADUATE: taught master's degrees run about RM20,270–35,630 over two years before the hall, with the hall adding RM9,050; the doctorate runs about RM41,500–63,500 over three years, plus RM13,575–14,475 for the hall.
- First year
- RM17,500–24,195 (foundation year, all-in)
- Before you start
- RM2,248 to process the visa approval letter and RM800 for takaful and the student-pass conversion. A personal bond is also collected at the rate the Malaysian government sets for your nationality — it is returned when the student pass is cancelled at the end of study.
- Other charges
- A hall room is up to RM600 a month on the foundation year; on the bachelor's it is already inside the totals above. English proficiency, where required, is RM2,800 a level and Arabic RM2,100. Every figure is subject to 6% SST, which has applied to international students since 1 July 2025.
What you need
- Entry
- The foundation year via IIUM Academy is the entry point for a school-leaving certificate; the bachelor's itself is entered after a foundation, matriculation or equivalent. Foundation streams are split across two campuses — Law, Human Sciences and Economics at Gombak; Engineering, Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, Architecture, Nursing, Computer Science, Arabic, Islamic Revealed Knowledge and the language routes at Gambang.
- English
- Where your English does not yet meet the bar, IIUM does not reject the file — it adds its own proficiency course at RM2,800 per level (Arabic RM2,100), taken alongside the programme. Budget for it rather than assuming it away.
When, and what it pays
- Scholarships
- None published on the international fee schedules we hold. The prices below are the standard international rates, not a discounted offer, which is worth saying because they are lower than several discounted rates elsewhere on this board.
