A joint venture of Xi'an Jiaotong University and the University of Liverpool in Suzhou Industrial Park, approved by China's Ministry of Education in 2006, about 26,000 students. Every graduate receives a University of Liverpool degree alongside the XJTLU degree: four years in Suzhou (4+0), or two in Suzhou and two in Liverpool (2+2), chosen in year two. Applications go to XJTLU's own portal in your name; we prepare the file with you, lodge it together and chase it to the decision.

- The 2+2 years in Liverpool are charged at Liverpool's international rate minus 10%: for 2026-27, Economics £24,300, Computer Science £28,800, English and Communication £21,690 a year. A further 25% comes off for the Liverpool Excellence Scholarship, decided on XJTLU year-two marks. JW202 form for the X visa is issued by XJTLU.
What you need
- Entry
- XJTLU's published country list names Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan: a completed secondary-school certificate with an average of 4 out of 5, and 4 in the relevant subjects. No foundation year and no twelve-year clause on that page, so on paper an eleven-year attestat with a 4 average is direct Year One entry — we confirm it for each attestat with XJTLU before anything is paid. Year Two entry needs A-level BBB, IB 30 points, or a diploma at GPA 3.0 plus three AP exams; engineering and computing want mathematics (and physics for engineering). Minimum age 17 on 1 September; under 18 needs a guardian in China. Progression to year three, Suzhou or Liverpool, needs every year one and two module passed; not every programme offers 2+2.

- Year One: IELTS 5.0 overall with 4.5 in every part, or TOEFL iBT 62. Year Two entry: IELTS 6.5 with 5.5 in every part, or TOEFL 90 with 21 in every skill.

- September only, no spring intake. The September 2026 deadline for most programmes was 15 June 2026 (15 May for Architecture, Filmmaking, TV Production and Digital Media Arts); September 2027 dates are not yet published.
- Scholarships
- Entry scholarship of up to 50% of tuition a year for international undergraduates above the standard entry bar, renewable each year on results; apply inside the online application, final round deadline 30 April 2027. Early-bird: 10% off tuition where the application, documents and offer are complete by 31 March 2027 and the deposit is paid by the offer deadline. Progression scholarship, automatic: RMB 10,000 for first-class and RMB 5,000 for second-class marks the previous year.
