- Italy requires twelve years of schooling, so an eleven-year certificate needs a bridging year or one year of university at home before it is accepted. Admission runs through Universitaly and the Italian consulate on a fixed annual calendar — we work backwards from the pre-enrolment date, not from the university's own deadline.
- English
- No English certificate gates admission. Unimi's bachelor's courses ask B1 in general and B2 on the English-taught degrees, and a student arriving without a certificate sits a placement test in October of the first year — failing it means a compulsory language course, not a refusal. Its published score table converts certificates to CEFR levels rather than setting an entry bar. Certificates must be under three years old, or two for TOEFL. Duolingo is not accepted

Worth knowing before you pay
Italian public universities set tuition by FAMILY INCOME, assessed through a document called the ISEE, and award need-based grants on the same basis. A family that files it correctly can pay very little; a family that does not file it is charged the top band. We prepare the ISEE with you — it is the single most valuable thing we do on an Italian application, and it has a deadline of its own.
